Why Volunteer?

The Cayman Islands Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. Every day, they care for dozens of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens looking for loving homes. While their team works tirelessly, they rely on volunteers—both local and visiting—to give these animals the love and attention they deserve.

Whether you’re a lifelong animal lover or simply looking for a way to give back, your time can make a big difference.

Ways to Help

1. Dog Walking
Start your day with a wagging tail! The Humane Society welcomes volunteers to take dogs out for walks—great for the dogs, and a fun way to explore the island on foot.

2. Cat Cuddling & Socializing
If you’re more of a cat person, stop by the shelter for some quality time with the feline residents. Socializing with cats helps prepare them for adoption and gives them a much-needed boost of love.

3. Volunteer at the Thrift Shop or Book Loft
Support animal welfare while shopping or organizing donations. Proceeds from these shops go directly toward shelter operations and veterinary care.
